Polygraph experts, often referred to as polygraph examiners or forensic psychophysiologists, are individuals trained in administering polygraph tests and interpreting the results. They have backgrounds in psychology, physiology, or law enforcement, and they undergo specialized training to become proficient in polygraph testing techniques.

Max Nunziata, Forensic Polygraph Examiner, is a third-generation polygraph examiner, a member of American Polygraph Association, National Polygraph Association, and Florida Polygraph Association. and currently been on the Florida Polygraph Association Board.

A polygraph examiner's responsibilities may include:

• Conducting pre-test interviews with examinees to establish a baseline and understand the issues being investigated.

• Administering the polygraph test, which typically involves attaching sensors to measure physiological responses such as heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, and skin conductivity.

• Analyzing the data collected during the test to identify patterns or deviations that may indicate deception or truthfulness.

• Presenting the results of the polygraph examination in written reports or testimony, often in legal or investigative proceedings.
